We are a small group of dedicated volunteers whose aim is to help dogs desperately in need, to find them a loving home in Sweden.
*WHY SWEDEN?Because the rule in Sweden is: if you do not want a dog inside the house then do not get a dog.
There are NO stray dogs.
If someone abuses a dog they WILL be imprisoned. They are not even fined in Ireland!
Letting a dog roam is taken very seriously.
Their conditions for adopting a dog are; you have to be over 18 years of age. If you are over 75 you cannot adopt a puppy, only an older dog. No children under the age of 5 in the family. You cannot give away or sell a dog; a new home has to be approved by the appropriate body. Someone has to be home during the day or YOU provide day care. NO DOG should be left alone for more than 4 hours a day and NO PUPPY should be left alone for more than 2 hours a day.
You have to take an OBEDIENCE COURSE with an approved instructor.
You are not allowed to breed or race the dog.
The cost involved in re-homing one dog in Sweden, including transportation is €450. This includes neutering, micro chipping, worming, flea and tick control, feeding, temporary housing, cost of passport; transport to Dublin Airport, and the air fare to Sweden.
We also need reliable local foster homes for someone to care for the dog waiting re-homing. All foster homes are vetted beforehand.
All dogs are temperament tested and health checked.
We cannot re-home Rottweilers, Staffies, Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, or any guarding breeds
One 2 One Dogs is donating €100 towards the cost of each dog rescued for Sweden.
